Product Overview
This produces a red skinned and purplish-red fleshed . Fruits are an average 3/4 of a pound. This variety is self-pollinating and makes a great selection for pollinating your other dragon fruit..
Self-Fertile- It can use its own pollen to set fruit.
Dragon fruit can be grow in containers or in the ground as long as they are planted in well-drained soil, full sun and trained to a trellis to support weight of this fast-growing cactus. Protect from hard freezes.
Dragon Fruit Plant Care: All of our dragon fruit plants have been greenhouse grown. When you receive your plants, please be patient in acclimating them to their new environment. This means slowly transitioning them from full shade to full sun over a period of at least three weeks. Dragon fruit is tropical fruiting cactus. Dragon fruit will not grow in cold climates, so make sure that the temperature is above 40 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent cold damage. Dragon fruit plants can be grown in large containers or the ground. Avoid overplanting into very large containers, instead gradually increase container size in relation to the plant size. We recommend a complete fertilizer during the growing season. Avoid overwatering in the winter to ensure the plant does not rot off.

5 Dragon fruit cuttings
Posted by Brad on Nov 9th 2021
The rooted cuttings were packaged very well with biodegradable packing peanuts, which is awesome. They arrived fully intact with no damage and both plants look great. I recommended them to a friend of mine who ordered some as well. Super pumped to get these going. Great job everyone!

5 Sugar Dragon shipped to Norcal in October
Posted by Tuan Nguyen on Oct 25th 2021
I live in San Jose, CA. I purchased this product on October 17. The product was shipped on October 17 and I received it on October 20. Product shipment and received: rating 5. I received the product in good shape and very healthy. The box was in good standing and the shipment arrived within a few days. Fantastic. Plant Quality: For the price I paid $7.99, the plant is extremely healthy with root system fully developed. Although the size is small, maybe about 5 inches tall, the plant just seems very healthy. For the price I paid $7.99+shipping, I would put it at 4 stars out of 5. I've been taking care of the plant really well. Watering the plant every 3 days, keeping them under LEDs light during the night time, taking them out for a full sun from 8AM to 5PM. Because the pot is small and the root seems to have fully grown out of the small pot, I transplanted to a bigger pot. On a daily basis, I look at it but it's not growing yet. It's been 7 days and I see no change in growth. Hopefully the plant should adjust to the new environment soon and will start growing. Thanks Cal Poly Pomona for the fantastic service and quality plant. Overall, I would re-buy the plant again through this whole experience.

5 Beautiful well rooted dragon fruit
Posted by Paul Clifford on Jul 25th 2021
So far I have purchased about a dozen varieties of dragon fruit from Cal Poly Pomona Nursery. They were shipped promptly and very well packaged. On delivery in April they were well rooted small plants a few inches tall. It's now late July, about 3 months since receiving them, and they have grown to a height of two to three feet. Their growth has been vigorous and I have now planted them in large tubs with a trellis. I have been able to take cuttings that I have rooted. I'm eager to leave another review next year when they fruit to give my impressions of the fruit of each variety. I live in Northern California on the east shore of the San Francisco Bay, so I don't know how well some of the varieties will survive the cool winter, but I'm prepared to cover them if needed.

4 DRAGON FRUIT SUGAR DRAGON PLANT
Posted by Scott T on Jul 24th 2020
I ordered four different dragon fruit varieties at the same time. The Sugar Dragon plant is doing okay. I have only had it for just over a month so I can't comment on the fruit yet. I was a little nervous about the shipping because I live in Northern California and it was the peak of summer heat. Turns out I was justified. The plants shipped out on a Tuesday and were delivered the following Monday, even though they shipped USPS 3-day Select. When I opened the box, the soil from the pots was scattered all over the box and was bone dry. A couple of the plants were loose and out of the pots. There was a small arrow drawn with a Sharpie on the side indicating which direction should be up, but this was completely ignored by the USPS (it was left on my porch on its side). I hope they improve the shipping. For the $26 charged for shipping and handling, these could have easily shipped UPS and been here in 2 days instead of 6. 5 stars for the plant; 3 stars for the shipping/handling.
